u kno wat? unce ma chemistry ma'am tol me dat gold n platinium aint dissolved in nitric acid. if a mixture o conc. nitric acid (one part) n conc. hcl (three parts) is heated with gold or platinium, da metal dissolvez in it. this mixture o acids is called aqua regia. it is also known as royal water. erm though aqua regia izn an element but still it has an allotrope, known as nisha a.k.a. lil miss sunshine ~ about Aqua Regia
